And what's a gal to decorate with when the weather patterns all wonky? This gal focuses on her love of all things travel and all things cheap.
Cheap as in Christmas ornaments from the clearance section used on tabletops.
Cheap as in ceramic "paper" airplane from a thrift store.
Cheap as in more ornaments.
I like the touch of gold they bring in, and in fact-
I'm tired of this. Don't get me wrong-my quest to debrownify was achieved-but instead of feeling brown, i felt blue. And white. And yes, brown. Very cold feeling. And i wanted to walk in here this summer and feel colorful.
So i tried out some cray floral curtains.
This actually works.
And they're bright and fun, and i don't walk in here and get assaulted with a color theme. I just get assaulted with color. And who doesn't want that am i right?!
And although they're floral, they've got warm tones of rust and eggplant and marigold that remind me of what i love about fall. Even if it might not feel like it yet.
So these puppies are staying up til winter, when the browns and blues return.
I did have to adjust my circular art since it was too much with the florals, and too color specific.
Totally on trend with the "made by a two year old" painterly look. Some a little more trendy (ahem) than others.
Colorful living room, i love you and your floral curtained self. But i wouldn't turn away some boot and sweater weather soon.
Is it boot and sweater weather yet by you? Send some this way!

Wow...you have a very nice, cozy place out there. I love your curtains.Have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteLove all the pretty pillows and fabrics. Looks so warm and inviting and fabulous pictures too. Thanks so much for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThis looks so great! Love the color in the curtains and it really does just make you feel warm in a Fall-ish way! It's nice and cool here in Paris! Loving the sweater weather!
ReplyDeleteI love those curtains! They really do go well with the other fabrics, and bring out some other fun colors as well. =) Looks great!
ReplyDeleteLove the mix of colors!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like those curtains! Great way to mix it up
ReplyDeleteNo fall weather here. Nope. I think your "debrownification" worked nicely and I like the cheerful mix of colors of the pillows and curtains. I have to say I am feeling green over that ceramic paper airplane! What a cute and unique find.
ReplyDeleteHere's to cooler temps ahead!
Ann
Oh how very pretty. With all that punch of color and happy fabric how can't you be comfy!
ReplyDeleteI have those curtains in my dining/toy room. Love them. My walls are kind of a golden brown color, so it works with the warm gold in the flowers. I think with the plum and olive green colors, they are perfect for fall. I'm going to paint something that shade of green and have it work it's way in there. They are bright and wild, but really, they seem to transition well with the seasons.
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE the curtains! Is the boy ok with the girly floral pattern too?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on not starting with the fall stuff yet. This is like that awkward time when it feels weird to get fall stuff out, but it's not really summer anymore. I like your transition decorations and they really make the room fun and colorful!
I love the bold look of your curtains. I'm thinking about fall decor but it's hard to do anything about it when it's in the 90's here.
ReplyDeleteYour room is so colorful and cozy looking. I love it.
ReplyDeleteYup, 90's here too! No gourds and leaves for me! I just can't make myself.
ReplyDeleteThe blues in your space are SO pretty. I'm ooohing and aahing over here girl! I'm also totally digging your curtains and that awesome ceramic paper plane (which is probably the coolest thing ever!)You have wonderful taste!
I think if you chose one of the bright colors from your curtains and had a piece of furniture painted that color in the room, it would really tie everything together!

I can't get into the theme of fall yet either. It is still summer and it will feel like summer well into fall so it will probably be late this month before I do anything with pumpkins and such. Your cat on the couch is cute and I like all robin's egg blue you use in your decor.
ReplyDeleteIt works! I had a drama teacher in high school who always ended a rehearsal with 'It works!', if the play was going in the right direction! Your cast of cozy characters here are ready for showtime, and those curtains definitely steal the show!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my place and hope you visit again soon!

I really love your curtains! So bright and cheery :)
ReplyDeleteIt's not quite fall here yet, but I bought 20 pounds of apples anyway!
The drapes have such a happy look to them. I bet you smile every time you see them.
ReplyDeleteThe floral looks fabulous! What a fun change...one that makes a HUGE difference! I love your tiny globe and framed map! I'm getting so many ideas! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You've been featured on Wicked Awesome Wednesday! What a simple way to make a sunny change! Thank you for sharing and feel free to stop by the website and pick up your "I've Been Featured!" button.
ReplyDeleteOhh! I like those curtains and the paintings! They add such a nice pop of color!
ReplyDeleteOh...I love all of this! Love the pops of blue everywhere. We had some cooler days this weekend but still up in the eighties... I'm making pumpkins here.
ReplyDeleteYour curtains are very pretty ... a very comfortable space.
ReplyDeleteYou aren't afraid of color and I love it! I love color too but am taking a little break from it. I'm sure it won't be long though before I am bringing back the color into our home.
