Inevitable Destruction

Oh heyyyy, remember how I was all like "squirrels are one of the banes of my existence" and "I detest/loathe these vermin..."  Well, here's the inevitable post where they destroy what I try to make pretty, and destroy what I intended to enjoy.

Full of malice and intent, those beady little eyes are!

Greedy, greedy little bugger.

Ruiner.

 Devourer.

Territory fighter.

Gorgeous gray girls that completely shocked me, having never seen this happen before.  In a year and a half, I have never seen them share the same space.  Only lasted a few moments longer.

Taunter of cats.

Ravager.

Mine.

There was a silver lining to all of this!  While these hideous creatures were feasting on my pumpkins out back, the ones on the front stairs remained intact. Clearly every year will now require decoys.  We have finally won!  Huzzah!

Happy Thursday!

  3. Sometimes I think they are kind of cute, but more often they drive me crazy! At the moment there is dirt all over my porch as they keep trying to hide their nuts in my pots and they are making a huge mess! As fast as I clean it up, they just do it again!

  4. Oh girl, you are so funny. I never had a problem with squirrels until they set up shop in our roof and cost us a small fortune to remove. Not. Fun. At. All. I feel your pain.

  6. Those little things are certainly a pain being so cute! Mine like to spend their time taunting my dog who can't quite catch one! Thanks so much for stopping by chapter37 and for your kind comment!

  7. Oh bad squirrel. What was he thinking doing that to your pumpkin. I'm sure he is very sorry and will never ever do it again.

  9. Oh this made me laugh! I happen to like the little varmits, but I know, I know, they are rats with fuzzy tails.... I still think they are cute. Love the grey girls sitting together in solidarity, if only for a few minutes - so typical of our feline friends. Ann

  12. I love this, and the pictures made me laugh. Now that I live in a high rise, I kind of miss watching squirrels playing outside my window. I also no longer have a yard.

  13. Great pictures of the squirrels..........we have trouble with them eating our tomatoes, not pumpkins! Like the chipmunks, they are quite annoying, but I can usually ignore the squirrels appeal-they have stolen or eaten 1 BITE out of a tomato, ruining the whole thing......we try to chase them all out of the yard now. :) gentlejoyphotography.blogspot.com
