The front is fall-ified

This is always the time of year where i wish i had a big ol' porch to decorate. Or even a little ol' porch to decorate. But i make do with my stairs. My steps. My stoop. Whatever you can call it, it's officially fall-ified. I really love the all white fall set ups, with the white pumpkins, but apparently something happens to me at the store and i go straight for the tried and true orange pumpkins. I guess it's just not fall without it.

Have you seen these striped pumpkins before?  They're my way of working in the whites while still being colorful.  Speaking of color, this weekend i went to a flower show/sale/hipster flea market with a friend, and we totally differ on plant basics.

I love greens, greens in pots, greens in the ground...i think that's rather obvious.  But she was vehemently against them, saying that is for the desert.

And she wants color color color. Interesting, i thought, and of course to each his own.

This giant kale was 5 dollars! 5 dollars!  Best. deal. ever.

It's seriously giant. I had to pull from the pot reserves and use this cheapy plastic one b/c it was too giant for anything else.

I can't help it, i love my greens.

What about you?

Colors for your plants??

Or greens??

Traditional fall colors for your pumpkins??

Or whites??

Welcome Fall. Happy Fall. And to my Jewish friends, L'Shanah Tovah.

  2. I don't have a big ole porch to decorate either. We do have cool old stone steps that always look pretty when they are dressed up.
Your decorations look great. I love how the pumpkins make it pop.

  4. Your steps look wonderful! I love greens too. In fact I used to want flowers, flowers, flowers then I realized that the greens are the structure that you need to make it all look good. Your flag is so perfect on your house too. :)

  5. Here via Weeks-End.

My husband and I just put out a little autumn wreath that we picked up at Kroger last night. It's so cute! I need to go back to Kroger and pick up some little gourds and pumpkins while they're still on sale. I'm not sure if they'll grace our front stoop or go somewhere else in the house.

We had lots of color earlier in the year, but the front yard is mostly green now. We're renters, and the homeowner takes care of the yard and garden for us. It's very nice since I like having a pretty garden, but I did NOT inherit my mom's green thumb!

  6. So cute! I always wish I had steps leading up to my house because they are so cute when people decorate them! I wouldn't be able to get all white pumpkins either!

  14. Beautiful and inviting fall decorations. You did a wonderful job. I love the asparagus ferns on the porch they take the heat really well and it really gets hot on that porch. I have tried Boston ferns and they just get to stressed, so I guess they get the back of the house next year. Thanks so much for stopping by and your wonderful comments, I'm plating catch up tonight. Hope we talk again soon.
    Have a blessed weekend,
    Sandy
