Let's start a campaign for Instant Autumn

Don't you feel like September should be instant fall?  Like, who cares that we're likely coming from the hottest month, and summer vacations.  The moment September hits i feel like Mother Nature should drop the temperature about 30 degrees and we should all start wearing flannels, tall boots and sip hot cups of pumpkin spice lattes whilst bumping along on a hayride out to the pumpkin patch.  There should be a crisp, yet slight chill in the air, leaves of gold and reds, and Halloween costume planning.

September-when it's still in the 90's, with humidity, and it's hotter than it's been all summer long-i feel like Instant Autumn could have a following.  Instant Autumn means i could once again return to the sunroom.  Even the cats came inside last weekend, and that's saying a lot of it's too hot for them out there.  Instant Autumn all the things.

Instant Autumn would mean pumpkins lined the stairs (but first you'd slather them in vasoline to keep the squirrels from nibbling)

You'd break out your wreath in all it's wispy goodness.

You'd have pinecones everywhere and ribbon wrapped books.

You'd corral ceramic (dollar store) pumpkins galore atop collected candlesticks

Instant Autumn is something you could easily add to your regular decor.

Both inside and out.

What are you doing to add some Instant Autumn to your home?

  1. Thanks so much for linking up to What You Wish Wednesday! I agree with you wholeheartedly....the minute it is September first, I am ready to roll out the hay bales, pumpkins, and mums. Fall is one of my favorite times of year and I am so impatient for it to get here. Love your pretty fall porch!

  2. Yes, as soon as September hits, I am ready for all things Fall! I have done nothing to make my house look/feel like Falls, but I have made myself a few Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

  3. I'd sure vote for instant Autumn! It feels like the middle of July here and that doesn't make me happy even in July. If you have trouble with squirrels munching on your pumpkins, trying putting a coat of Dollar Tree floor wax on them. Works for me and my pumpkins!

  4. I'm tempted to start the decorating but I'm going to wait until Fall is "official".

  10. I have been itching to get out all my Fall things! I am thinking that's what I will do next weekend! I didn't get to decorate last year due to moving, so I really am looking forward to getting out and decorating with all those beautiful Fall colors!
P.S. I love your candle trick! Easy and festive!

  12. I am so with you! Thankfully, it has been at least in the 70s the past few days and overcast so my fall mood doesn't feel as out of place as the humid 90s weather. Maybe if I drink more Pumpkin Spice Lattes it'll happen sooner? And if not, eh, I still win because I'm drinking PS Lattes. Ha! Cute post. :)

  13. Somehow this summer went by with all the particulars for selling our condo and buying a house in N. Calif. - in other words, am not ready for Fall yet:) Left a comment on your post below about your comment on my blog of this week:)

  14. No Instant Autumn here.

I love summer and I am not giving it up.

We live on the coast and September is probably one of the most beautiful months on the beach - hot days on the empty beach with everyone back at school.

  15. I agree, when I flip the calendar to September, I'm ready for fall - pumpkins, gourds, crunchy leaves, cozy sweaters, tailgating and football! The only part I don't love is the getting dark sooo early!
