I'll Melt with you

Saw this on Man Vs. Food-a place called Melt in Cleveland, Ohio makes this humongous grilled cheese sandwich. Fancy cheese style.  I love me some grilled cheese sandwiches, as basic a food as that is.  However, i feel like i can never order out something that i can make (and i can't make much!)  so therefore i only order "fancy" grilled cheese.  Fancy to me means more than just American or Cheddar cheese.  And bacon.  Bacon makes all things fancy, don't you think?  The cape on the corner's no fail strategy:  When in doubt, wrap it in bacon.

Maybe Melt has already thought of that...if not, they very well should!

That's 5 pounds of cheese right there!

Directly from their site:
"The Parmageddon-2 potato & cheese pierogi, fresh napa vodka kraut, grilled onions, sharp cheddar"-ok, i could do without the kraut, but pierogi!
"Big Popper-fresh jalapeno peppers, cheddar & herbed cream cheese, beer battered, mixed berry preserves"
"The Cheeses-american, sharp cheddar, provolone, pepper-jack, havarti, swiss, muenster, smoked gouda, blue cheese, feta, herbed cream cheese, goat cheese"-this is the one featured on the show. see, fancy!

Have any of you guys eaten there?  Know someone who has?  Seen the episode on TV at least?  Repulsed at the number of calories that must be in that behemoth of a sandwich?

Um, yeah, i have no association with this place, i am merely daydreaming of big ass fancy grilled cheese sandwiches.  Image from Melt Bar & Grilled.

Yes, bacon makes everything both fancy and delicious.

5 lbs of cheese sounds like BR trouble the next day.

Have a great day!

I think we saw that one! My husband loves that show so we watch it a lot. A lot of those places make me sick just watching! I did want to try the fancy voodoo doughnuts at the shop he went to. Did you see that one?

OMG! That looks awesome and deadly. I love, love cheese but it is not good for me so I eat it only when it is special. This is definitely special but too special for someone with congestive heart failure.
However, that said, I will probably dream about this sandwich. Hugs, Ginger

The "popper" sounds amazing, until you get to the "berr preserves" part of the description. Gross.

We have a place here that is nothing but different kinds of fancy mac n' cheese. It's ridiculously delicious.

I LOVE Man Vs. Food. That sandwich is amazing. I at one point had a celeb-crush on Adam because of his ability to scarf food down. My husband still makes fun of me for that. :)

As a Clevelander, I have to love Melt. It is always a long wait and a bit overwhelming though. They have plenty of "fancy" grill cheese to choose from- The Parmageddon is actually my fav. We love pierogi in Cleveland. I just had beef cheek pierogi at Michael Symon's restaurant, Lola a couple weeks ago. It may not sound delish but it was heaven. I'm realllly hungry now...

I so enjoy that show even though I'd never eat half of the things Adam does. I love me some grilled cheese, too, with a tomato - not THAT's fancy!
