It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Yes, Fall is the most wonderful time of the year, in my humble opinion!  Crisp autumn air.  Crunching through leaves. Needing a light jacket.  Caramel apples.  Scarecrow festival.  The Perfect Autumn scent from Bath and Body Works.  My birthday.  All very, very good things.

This weekend was so lovely and fall like, and it was finally time to do tier 1 of decorating.  I discovered i have 4 Rubbermaid containers of Halloween decorations/clothes which will come out in October, and only 1 container of Fall items.  Clearly, i see a need to even things out, don't you?  The living room is the only place i can really decorate, besides the dining room table and a not really blog worthy fall runner on the kitchen table, so i give you Living Room, Fall 2010.  Extra thrifty style.

Hall table.  Halloween books (hmm, not fall...) propping up post-fall clearance scarecrow from Joann's bought last year.  That book above Vampire A-Z tells of the real origins of Halloween, with information i used to educate a former coworker when she gave me a pamphlet calling it the "devils holiday".  i probably should have kept it, i could have put it out as holiday decor, instead of angrily throwing it in the trash.

Sorry this is so dark, but i don't put the pictures through editing.  Believe me, there would never be new posts if i had to spend extra time doing that.  These pumpkins are from Lillian Vernon, and they do double duty since there are H'ween images on the other side.  I'm always thinkin' (taps head).

I'm quite proud that all that glassware, including candlesticks, were thrift store purchases from this year.  For a girl who loves Fall, i told you i was lacking!

Oh my goodness, i looooove this set of table covers (modeled by my ottomans).  S bought them for me on vacation last year and they were really expensive, but they are the perfect addition.  I must have had nothing before!

Thank you for joining me on my Fall decor tour of the living room.  What has been your best Fall find, the one that really "makes it"?

It is looking good at your house! I have to get out my decorations. I found a few new items at the thrift today and will share later in the week. I love the glassware and different levels you created. Good Job

Loving your fall decor and I agree... fall is most definitely the most wonderful time of the year!

Since this will really be our first year decorating for fall, I just started shopping. Hit HomeSense (HomeGoods) over the weekend and picked up a great ceramic gourd and some acorn vase filler! I think I'll share my fall decor next week on my blog!

Add adorable boots to your list! Fall is awesome! It has such a cozy feel to it. Even though I have no desire to go back to school, I love remembering that feeling of going back. You did a cute job decorating! Think that will be what I am doing this weekend. What about outside? Did you do anything there yet?

That's so beautiful! My little part of Australia isn't really big on celebrating the end of summer, but you've made it look appealing. I love those tablecloth things modeled so elegantly by the ottoman. S has great taste!

Meanwhile, the 'devil's holiday'? Such a shame you chucked it, I would really have loved to have read what came out of that particular co=worker's mind! I had an urge to paint myself blue and dance around in my pelt just reading that!

Ohhh boy, the old "Devils Holiday", we like to call it the candy free for all around here. To each their own I guess.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Love all of your Fall stuff! I've been the same way with Fall decorating in the past. All kinds of Halloween stuff and only a small, sad box of Fall. I tried to add to my collection last year, but failed (look on my blog for Massacre @ Three Coins Ct). Ive been more successful this year since I stay at home now and can monitor things. I think I've done a good job this year at pulling various Fall-ish things together.

This post had be cracking up and I love your style and your sense of humor, so I can't wait to go through the rest of your blog.

Oh wow...I had to comment your post. First I love your stuff, nicely done. I must first comment your pumpkins (dark photo..lol) I had one of these and when I packed it up last year it somehow got wet and molded. I had to throw it away (boohoo). I then noticed your 2pc glass pumpkin. I HAVE THIS....well I have the bottom half because as I just posted 2 days ago I accidentally broke the top when packing up. My daughter found a solution, come by and visit and you can check out our twin items. lol Have a great day.

Love all your fall stuff. I really must get one of those glass pumpkins.

I can't believe people are still going on with the "devil's holiday" stuff. I read an article recently where this woman thought all Halloween candy was cursed by the devil. As if a bunch of witches went to the Hershey's factory and cast a spell over the chocolate. lol.

Thanks so much for coming by for a visit and leaving such a nice comment. I DO go a little overboard for fall and Christmas! LOL This year is moving a little more slowly- just got #1 son off to California this AM and have been working on getting him ready. I will finish here, eventually. Stop by for another visit another time, if you'd like.
I like your TV cabinet- where you've placed the pumpkins on the elevated candlesticks and filled your jars with fall goodness! Adds a lot of color and personality!

After seeing all this beautiful inspiration, I'm ashamed that I don't have so much as a pumpkin out. Guess who's going to have to start decorating? :) Thanks for sharing all your gorgeous decor!

I'm just not ready to say Goodby to Summer yet. I looked at the fall decorations this week but decided to leave them in storage. Your table covers are amazing. I'll have to look around and see if I can find some.

Thanks for joining my Fall Decorating Party! I cracked up at the "Devil's Holiday" thing. I have known people over the years who feel that way, and I've seen the pamphlets. :-)

The devils holiday! So ridiculous! That would have been funny to work the pamphlet into your decor though. I love the jeweled pumpkins and Halloween books. I may need to look up that vampire one...
