A ghetto fabulous fall

Alternately titled "A lazy girl's guide to first tier fall decorating" or " how to recognize our favorite season without schlepping out the bins o' fall."

What?  It's like one of those puzzles where you have to shift everything around just to get to the piece you want.  I'm getting tired just thinking about it.  Thankfully there were some pine cones and jars in my dining room closet, and it was an opportunity to get in on the bunting craze.

Still working off the same pile of scrap book paper from crafts of yore, this time it was a hunt for oranges and browns.  I think it's adorable, S asked if it was a used car lot.  Clearly, he is not in on the bunting craze.

Said thrift store jars, said pine cones.  Stack o' books with orange polka dot ribbon.  Bam.  Fall.

Ghetto fabulous!  You see how i affixed these?

Staples!  And tape!

And yes, those are two previous attempts at snagging the ribbon that didn't go very well.  Remember, this is the lazy girl's guide.  And lazy girls don't look for staple removers.

Bunting over here, bunting over there.

Bunting, um, no where else just yet.....Let's go see what's in the dining room...

Ooh, corks and pine cones.  What fun textures.

A layering of table runners...I thought the white made the leaves pop.

Who else is in tier one of decorating out of laziness?  Or are you full throttle head to toe Halloween? I've got to get to those bins.

This is cute! Love the jars and did you say corks? I love wine corks. I haven't got one thing out for Fall yet but that is because I am still in Cali. However I'm heading home tonight and by the weekend hope to have a few Fall things out. After all it will be October!!! Get out those bins and enjoy! hugs, Linda

You are too funny! I know exactly what you mean about moving everything around just to find what you want. All of our stuff is stored in bins, too. Thanks for visiting our blog. I really like your fall decorations, especially your table with those leaves on it.

If staples and tape are lazy, then I don't want to be right. :) Your updates are beautiful!

I kind of want to decorate but my super lazy (err..tired) butt can't seem to get motivated at all. To decorate would mean to organize and clean and put away everything that's sitting on top of my dining room table. And that's not going to happen any time soon. Work is kicking my butt and then I come home to a busy toddler, dishes to clean, dinner to fix, laundry to do, dog messes to clean up, the list goes on and on.... so yeah, decorating ideas are in my head but not in my house. Maybe if we decide to do a halloween party...

Very cute! It definitely doesn't look lazy- lazy would be setting a solitary pinecone on the table and calling it good. Not that I would ever do that...

Love your table runner! Ha, and your ghetto fabulous fall decorations look great...don't be so hard on yourself! I have to admit I was having a hard time hanging my spring bunting banner so I just put heavy stuff on top of the ends : )

I just pulled out some of my fall stuff yesterday, but only put out a few things so far. I don't know if I feel like going all out or just abbreviated decor this year.

I'm so lazy. I don't really like fall. The leaves are nice but all i can think about is the dreaded winter, so i just ignore the whole craze. About a week before Halloween i hope to carve some pumpkins. I do like to do that.

I love fall, but I'm so lazy when it comes to seasonal decor. Your version of "lazy" is so much nicer-looking than mine, though :) Love the bunting! I'm all about making crafts & decor on the cheap this year. Thanks for the inspiration!

I was just thinking I should get out my fall decorations. I brought soe corn in today caught in my pants from being in the corn bin. That might be just about it for now. It's nicely sprinkled around the house as I left a trail. Bad news is the cat found a mouse in the house this morning so I had better go sweep up all the kernels before He invites his friends over! UGH!

I love your buntings. I had not heard of them being compared to a used car lot. Oh, I did have a chuckle at that! Your dining room is very pretty too. I love your dining light!! Very pretty!
Thanks for linking it to my Fall Open House.

I think it looks great, lazy or not! I pulled out a few of my favorite fall stuff, but I just wasn't feeling most of it. I have bins of it downstairs. I just have so much junk to put away anyhow, I don't want to deal with too much fluff. =)
