2013. Unflippinbelievable. Where does the time go? Let's take a look back on the year that was, and see if we actually accomplished anything in those 12 months.
The debrownification of the living room reached an all time high when i found this Missoni ottoman on clearance.
Then i bought the realest looking fake plant to add some life and greens, and i'm happy to say the plant is still thriving. Ha.
Then we spent a glorious two weeks in Aruba gorging ourselves on delicious food and ideal scenery.
We installed these ikea shelves to brighten up the kitchen and finally make some good use of this big wall.
A little kitten made an unexpected home with us.
I took my maiden voyage with rub'n'buff and transformed this mirror into something i like much better.
The basement made actual visual progress
Created my most favorite tablescape of the year.
Enjoyed the holidays in a winter wonderland relaxed sort of way.
And lost a door decorating contest (boo hiss!!)
One of my resolutions this year is to actually take the time to photo edit, and i was all prepared to do so with this post-kicking it off on a successful start and all that-but for some reason no new pictures will load. There was even a collage, people! Talk about fancy.
The basement is 75% done, and there better be a reveal in the next few months or the boyfriend will have to deal with one pissed off partner. Prepare to hear about the dining room again, for we have to hang the marbled papers, rearrange some art and install the new lighting that i won.
And maybe-just maybe-we can seriously entertain the idea of a kitchen update after the basement is complete. Here's to hoping! And here's hoping it all looks pretty in pictures!
What do you hope to accomplish this year?

Well Miss Cape you had a really successful year I would say! I too love that tablescape you did and the shelves in the kitchen are awesome. New kitties are always welcome. You never told us if you won the 'door' prize...he he!
Happy New Year!
hugs,
Linda
such a cute kitten... and ottoman!!! :)
Want to steal the ottoman AND the kitten. Maybe the tablescape too.
It was a very good year at The Cape on the Corner!
A kitten, Aruba, AND house progress? Sounds like a great year! Our basement is on our to do in the not too distant future (we hope) list, so I look forward to seeing yours!
Happy 2013! I can't wait to see your refurbished basement!
Wow, it looks like you've had a productive year and even made time for an awesome vacation. Your kitty is adorable:-)
#1 I can't believe your snowman door didn't win!
#2 Somehow I missed your Aruba post. I'm swooning over here. I went to St. Thomas in 2011 and loved it. I think I need to add Aruba to my list now.
#3 Can't wait to see more of the basement progress (I'm still drooling over the checkered floor!).
#4 I'm hoping that this is the year my master bath remodel will be done or at least started (I've been saying that the last 3 years though). I don't use it since there's no shower (um, hello 1980s - there were showers back then!). But, it seems I can't make any decisions on what to do, which is why I'm still at phase 1. I've been making a bit more progress with the design, so...this year is the year! :)
So many great projects. I love your look back at the year. I also need to de-brown my living room. I'm tempted to paint my brown leather ottoman but the hubby might kill me.
Sounds like you had an awesome year!!
WHat a fabulous and wonderful year you had! Love looking back on everyone's year. Thanks for linking up.

Sounds like we will be adding on a master bedroom downstairs, which will lead to each girl having her own room! I think that all equals excitement, mess, de-cluttering, and finally starting to believe this house is mine! About time after living in it almost twelve years dontcha think? :-)
Dibbs on that ottoman when you are sick of it! :) I love it!
What a great year in review. The basement is looking great - and that ottoman was a great find. Thanks for visiting over at my blog too.
