A cloche, a cloche, my kingdom for a cloche

It  seems like everyone and their mother found the exact same cheese dome this weekend.  I stumbled upon mine after forgetting that i was even looking for one, isn't that always the way?  In the past i found plastic ones and reeeeaaallly heavy ones, too heavy i thought to put on a candlestick.  But this one was just right...I feel like i'm talking about Goldilocks.

Underneath was the price, 3 dollars, and this stamp.  I almost felt bad about painting it, but i got over that quickly!

Testing out the fit on my wood candlestick that has been waiting all this time to be repurposed.  A perfect fit.  Now I'm talking like Cinderella.

I was going to paint it white, b/c why not paint everything white, but then i remembered this spraypaint i got at Home Depot on clearance.  Metallic Finish.  I figured it would be easy to change it to white if i didn't like this.  I must give props to Rustoleum, this paint went on smooth and super easy.

Ain't she sweet? And metallicy bright?

Trying out different options and places.  She'd look good on my hall table...

She'd look extra fine in my dining room with those colors, especially filled with pinecones for the fall.  They just happened to be shoved in the closet, so why not test that theory out?

The possibilities are endless! I am happy to say that i am now officially a member of the cloche club.  And they all lived happily ever after.  The end.

Linking to these fun parties, a round tuit @jembellish, saturday is craft day @ along for the ride, it's so very thrifty @ it's so very cheri, 2nd time around tuesday, debbie doos before and after party, its a blog party.

and i love the metallicy. looks great on your hall table.

*come check out my blog too if you'd like :)

The silver's really pretty! The only cheese domes I have seen around are really heavy marble ones - and then yesterday, I got so excited - a wooden one! But, alas, the glass dome didn't fit.

Yours turned out beautifully.

SandyS said...

Love your cloche! I'm still looking for a cheese dome. Someone must buy them just before I get to the thrift stores!

Kathy @ Creative Home Expressions said...

It looks like it was made for that candlestick! I recently found a cloche at Good Will myself {finally} and added a parfait glass as its pedestal. Mine is little {it holds like a cupcake}, but it's pretty and I can fit it in anywhere.
