Is that an eggplant in your pocket..

or are you just happy to see me?  Um, i apologize, but look at that thing!

To update my green post, container eggplant gardening has been a major success!

2 eggplants of sufficient size for eating, plus more in the background!  I sliced them in spears, drizzled olive oil, sprinkled on my go to Mrs. Dash mesquite grilling seasoning, and broiled them on low.

I plucked an additional one off yesterday, there are still more not quite ready yet, plus more flowers on top of that. I know some of you guys have major veggie gardens going, and just seeing these guys grow is such a thrill! I feel like a proud parent!   Plus the excitement of seeing the process?  And cooking food which i grew? I'd say that's 2.99 well spent! Hopefully i can find one next year, too.

.

Lest we forget big arse pepper, or he'll get a complex.  He's all alone thus far, but it's still early.

This will be making the rounds here: Party page

That's awesome! I didn't know eggplants would do so well in containers.

Hahahaha, I died laughing at the opening line. I was like, "Wait, did I read that right?!" Good for you. I need to get on the container gardening thing. Thanks for the inspiration. Thanks for linking up, girl!

Your eggplants and peppers look great! Up North, my butternut squash (also in containers) are just forming the first signs of "baby squash." It'll be a while before I can enjoy anything other than fresh basil from my containers!

Wow, good job with the eggplant! I wish I was that good at growing vegetables but I'm the kinda girl that needs plants that I can put in the ground and forget about because usually thats what I do...forget about them! Good luck with the container garden. Stopping by from New Friend Friday

Very impressive! I'm growing eggplant in my garden for the first time this year, and so far, no fruit (or veggie). I hope mine look as great as yours!

Fabulous! I just saw your pictures on a link party. As a first year veggie gardener with no eggplants yet, you give me hope!
