Missoni Accomplished

Missoni, instead of mission. I kill me.

But seriously.  The mission, should you choose to accept it, is the constant quest to debrownify the living room.  As frugally as possible.  I have been on this mission for years....and by golly, it may actually be accomplished.

Allow me to set it up for you-You're in the Targ.  You see 2 turquoise ottomans that are a little too flashy for this space so you don't pay attention to price.  You later have remorse....internal dialogue goes something like this.  "Hmm, those ottomans were turquoise with silver bases.  They would debrown.  But they were fancy pants ish.  I'm pretty sure they were expensive anyway.  Let's look online and torture ourselves."  You type in turquoise ottoman.  Those fancy ones are no where to be found on their website.  But what's this?  Missoni for Target online clearance?  Internal dialogue happens:  "Would it be chevron overload?  Is there such a thing?  What about all the other stripeyness happening in this room?  That's a great price.  Should i get one?  Two?  The one in black and white for the basement?  We'll put this one in the basement if it doesn't work here so hold off on the black and white one."

3 days later, here she is in all her chevron aqua goodness.  Consider this living room thoroughly debrownified.

Still hating the tv cabinet and the end tables, though.  I said we were done debrowning, not tweaking.

Look at that adorable little face peeking behind the new ottoman.

Just waiting for her chance to join me.

And lest we forget the brownier before pillows and ottoman, here ya go.  Methinks the old ottomans could become a redo project, but they need to be cushier as well as covered.

So what did this fabulous new find put me back??
826.69 from all modern?!?!
249.99 from west elm?!?

Nay.  33.99.  Seriously. On sale from 99.99.  How stupid am i for not buying the black and white one?  Super stupid, because after stalking the website for days, there ain't nothing there.

What's your latest "one that got away" that you're kicking yourself over?

One that got away! I am kicking myself for not buying the green metal headboard from Good Will. It was an oldie and cost $40.00.

You may be debrowning, but I do love the brown sofa!

Wow! You did good! Love your new ottoman! If you like, you could always buy some b&w chevron fabric and recover your other two.

The indoor/outdoor fabric is easier to wipe clean!

Shut. UP! I love the ottomans you found! The color, the pattern, and best of all, the PRICE! I haven't found a deal like that in a long time! Love how they look in your room (and it's not chevron overload either!)

Thanks for linking up to Room Evolutions!

Hey, good to see you again. I am always for "debrowning" anything, as it is not loved by me.

I reeeeally like your new ottoman. We never have jack at our local Tarjay stores, never any of the cool stuff I see on blogs.

Very cute find! Love the chevron with a twist. The brown and turquoise really look fresh together! Now you've got me looking for ottomans online too :-)

Thanks so much for popping by my blog! I hope you will try some paint chip art too - I'm telling you, it's super easy!!!

Congrats on debrowning your room a little more - the chevron looks fantastic!!! You made the right choice; and I totally know how hard it was because I was struggling very much myself with beige-itis!

Take care,
Christina

Your ottoman is a great purchase. I like the changes you've made to the room. I came by after you left a very thoughtful comment on my living room progress entry and I can see you are in the middle of a similar process. I love your old cube ottomans btw. I was thinking of getting some like that for my living room. I am not sure where to find them though.

I like how you share your shopping experience with folks. I am not much of a shopper so it takes me awhile to find what I want at a good price. I am so jealous of the good buys ppl post about. When I try to get in on the deals, they are usually sold out already. And I totally hear you about the remorse for not buying something when it is on sale. I hesitate and then it is scooped up. :/

Btw, we are your latest followers.

Sincerely,
Eldarose from http://RE-inventedstyle.blogspot.com

Thanks for the great comments on my kitchen reno! I hit the Missoni for Target sale on the first day and it was like a swarm of crazed bees took over! Somehow I managed to stuff my cart full with random stuff - bring it all home to decide what I wanted to keep (you couldn't decide in the store or someone would snatch it from your hands) and return what I didn't want. Alas, there were no ottomans there (sad). You got a great deal and they do brighten the room. New follower.

Great updates in your room! I love a great deal too, but sadly some do get away! I was at at barn sale yesterday and saw a wonderful set of chairs. I walked away for a moment to ponder and of course they were gone in a flash!
