12:00 is quitting time?

What time do yard sales end around your way?  When we've done them in the past, we're out there til at least 3 or 3:30.  Sometimes even later b/c we figure what else are we gonna do the rest of the day, and we have to wait for "The Van."  The Van comes just as you think no one else is coming, have given up hope, and begin putting away your items.  The van holds at least 3 generations of yard salers who are willing to pay full price for everything, and they buy a lot.  You hastily bring back out the items you put away in an attempt to entice The Van.  We love The Van and it is a sad day when you pack up too early for The Van.

Over the weekend we were at the shore, and this development's yard sale ended at 12.  Whaaaat?  That is way to early to be packing it in, however, it led people to leave their items at the end of the driveway with a "free" sign!  Score!  I felt greedy taking 3 things, but there were still tons more.

I have visions of painting the duck sign black and putting a white mongram on it for my coworkers who are getting married.  It's pretty big, the item it is in front of is a portable file box, so it will be a nice piece.  I blew up their first initial to 200 in word, and 250 for their last name initial.  Not sure if i should try to find vinyl or attempt to paint within the lines i'll trace.  sigh, if only i'd won that cricut that time!  The frames are just for frames, not the innards, but i couldn't pass them up for free.

How'd you do?

That is a great idea...I recently saw someone take a letter as you mentioned but add buttons...but I am thinking you can add other things if she collects shells, and is more coastal, you could do that.....Cute things!~

All yard sales just end way, way too early for me. -sigh- You found some nice finds regardless. I'm ALWAYS on the prowl for more frames.

I would have snatched up those frames in a moment....lol
thanks for your visit today.. and as for the comment you spoke of, Russian, I got a few comments that were against my being worried so I took it down? I still feel the same though...

I was thinking the same thing this weekend. why do they want to packup so early?
When there are whole subdivision sales, sales tend to run longer. After they close the curb goodies are worth hanging around for.
Like you, this weekend I picked up a frame, not for what was in it, but for a future project. See beyond what is.

I think they end early here because it's so hot. It's in the mid to upper 90s every day.

They will look great madeover!

I would have stopped to check out the free stuff too! I always look for frames by ignoring the innards. LOL! Alot of yardsales end at 12:00 around here too! It drives me crazy cause I'm a lazy riser, but that's the way it is!

Great finds! I always quit by noon. The flea market I hit every Sat. morn starts late and ends by noon. LOL....I love it! That's what I hit first, then on to the yard sales. What happens is I have a list from the paper but as I am traveling down the road I see all these signs and never make it to the ones in the paper. Come on over for a visit and see the cute makeover planter I found yesterday.

Yard sales are usually done by 12:00 here in York County. We start at 7:00 am and true yard salers are out before then. Me being one of them! Anything out after 12:00 is mostly stuff that should have gone to the trash in the first place.
