Upon buying this planter and excitedly bringing it home, behold this conversation.
Ahem.
Me: Yay, look at this! I can't wait to paint this thing white!
S: You're going to paint it white? It isn't going to look like a tree if you paint it white.
Me: Because this gaudy gold makes it look like a tree now? I don't want it to look like a tree, i want it to look like a white ceramic planter that has a tree pattern. You don't see the difference?
S: Whatever, do what you want.
Me: Nevermind, the blog world will understand.

Here she is after 2 coats of drip-laden spray paint, a much better improvement. And you do understand, right?
Hey, that ain't so bad anymore. I don't think i'd walk past this and visibly recoil! That marks success in my book!
Here she is at her final destination, jazzing up a formerly empty space in the backyard. Je'taime, faux bois!
Cost breakdown: thrifted planter, 4 bucks
white spray paint, already had.
2 plants-33 cents each.
Good deal.

Wonderful white...so fresh and fun!~ Thanks for popping over...see you soon.
This DOES look like a white ceramic planter with a tree pattern. It actually looks like an expensive designer piece! Does hubby know how much a designer white ceramic planter with a tree pattern costs? He'd probably be impressed then. I know I am.
See!!! Others would walk by it and think ugly...you see it and think...paint it white and it wonderful. Great!!
wow, it looks so much better! I love paint!

Very nice, much better now. White planters with embossed tree patterns are all the rage, I've heard.

Yes, it looks better white. We bloggers understand these things! I was thinking about showing my planters next week, they could really use some spray paint.:)

Yes - I definitely understand, and it looks great! Love it in the white.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Here's a link to the type of flower supports I use:

I bought mine at a local garden center but I think you might even be able to find them @ Lowe's or Home Depot if you don't want to buy them online. I think they work great! You stick them in the ground and then slip the stem thru the loop @ the top and they are easy to move around if you need to. Hope that helps!
Wow this is fabulous!! I would love for you to visit My blog. I am also hosting a Giveaway from CSN for $40 dollars !!
Spray paint rocks. The planter looks far better as you envisioned it. And I've learned to never explain what I'm about to do. My mantra: trust me. LOL. Please stop by and get in on our glass vessel sink giveaway if you have time.
You can see the detailing much better~ well done!
I love the white! Tell him it's a silver birch!!

glad to provide the Vermont visit! However, my son and my heart are below the mason dixon. We are reluctant "Vermonsters" just waiting for the house to sell and the job market to pick up. For three years (of the 4 here), I have kept sane through hope and the kindness of comments left by fellow bloggers.
i love the white paint on the pot, it shows the deails for perfect
Truthfully I thought it was PERFECT in gaudy gold and teal; but the structure of it is so nice that it looks nice either way.
That's looks great! I love the white
