Weather Letter Day

Dear my drive into work,
You royally sucked.  Nothing was plowed, cars couldn't make it over the smallest hills, i had to take a circuitous (Matt!) route to the office instead of my usual straight shot since it meant hills.  Schools round this way were closed, and my office had nary a delay.  This is unusual because we have delays like it's nobody's business.  Now, if we were let out early, i don't even WANT to venture back out there.  It's THAT bad.  It's supposed to stop at noon, and then hit heavy again at 2, and i'm sure we will be let go then.  Your roads better be plowed by then and i better have an easy ride home.

Dear new houseplant,
Yesterday i bought you from Trader Joe's because Better Homes and Garden'ssuggested a lively houseplant such as a snake plant to spring things up.  Apparently you're also known as Mother in Law's tongue....wtf does that mean?  I'll tell you what it means, it means now i don't like you since i have to think of you know who!  I wish i could un-know that.

Dear snow,
I have to trek to our courthouse in your nastiness to renew my passport.  I got all gussied up, hair was looking good, ready for that picture that will last 10 more years....thank you.  i appreciate that you flattened my hair while i cleared my car off from you, and thank you in advance for ruining it worse on my walk over.  If i fall and look like a jerk on my way over, you and i are gonna have a problem.

All the best,
the cape on the corner

hahahahaha! OH god! don't you just love the winter? I'm so over it... never been a fan of it and would be happy to live somewhere that it never (or nearly never) snowed. I guess a slight dusting around Christmas would be acceptable...

Ugh... mother-in-law's tongue? So it says not nice things and make you feel all guilty and stuff?

Worst. Plant. Ever.

Poor girl! What a day. Sorry about the plant, I think it's called Mother In Law's tongue cause you can't kill it!!! Hmmm... I bet your passport photo was still cute!!

LOL...sorry to laugh at your bad day....but man do I feel your pain!

I am SOO over the snow...but it'll stick around here until March at least. YUCK! :(

And last year...I fell...TWICE!!! I had never fallen in the snow before...but I landed straight on my rear in the Target parking lot (where, yes, people saw!) and then a week later in the parking lot of the VA Hospital (where I don't 'think' anyone saw). I was about to stop leaving my house! LOL

I hope your day gets better!! :)

Sounds like we're having the same day, minus the bad roads. Things finally cleared off here and I was able to make it to work in record time, but work is not pretty today. Here's for a better tomorrow!
P.S. I LOVE the idea of un-knowing things!!!

Sorry for the stinky day....as usual they get the weather wrong! My friends kids went to school on time and then they sent them home early (Abington School District). Maybe you can make it home before the next batch of snow! By the way....52 days until spring!

Girl, I have already shoveled twice today and we are getting 10 more inches. I would rather shovel a little at a time than all at once.

I'm not laughing AT you. Really.
What a funny-for-the-rest-of-us post! Thanks for the laughs.

I know I am soooo sick of snow too! I read that article about houseplants too in Better Homes. I have had an awful time keeping plants alive and all of the easy low light needing plants seem to be toxic to cats : ( I am still on the search for the perfect houseplant...

I'm sorry you had a terrible, horrible, very bad no good day!

And really...I was laughing WITH you...not AT you!

Oh what a day! We have mother-in-law's tongue in our garden - and it's rapidly spreading and taking over everthing.....mmmmmmm!

I think the weather worldwide has gone a bit crazy this year already! - we've got a rather large cyclone heading our way with phrases like - 'super cyclone' and 'very destructive' and 'stock up on food to last several days' being thrown about the radio. If it touches my little fruit trees that I've been nurturing for the past 3 years, there'll be BIG trouble!!!
